Introducing Agape Children's Ministry
In developing countries like Kenya, street children as young as four are hopeless and alone, living in hunger, fear, and disease. They need family, and that’s where Agape Children’s Ministry comes in. Agape seeks out at-risk children, shares the love of Jesus, temporarily houses and cares for them, and seeks to reunite children on the street with their families while equipping and empowering their parents to care for and love them.
A team from our Lexington and Downtown churches were able to visit Agape in 2023 and were very impressed with the ministry they are doing. As a church family, we have the opportunity to join Agape in its kingdom work. There are three ways to be part of the story God is writing through Agape.
Our church family has a goal to cover a significant portion of Agape's food costs. Across all three cities they operate in, it takes $7,800/month to feed an average of 138 kids and 221 staff. That averages out to about 70 cents per person per day.
Together, we aim to raise $46,800 to cover 6 months of food costs.
Because we are feeding kids, we want Kidtown involved as well. To help our kids grasp how powerful our generosity can be in God's hands, they can raise money for Agape.
Kidtown Initiative
Kidtown collection jars and donation calendars will be available after the Gathering. Kids can take as many calendars as they think they can fill!
Collect money by doing chores, finding spare change, asking friends or family, or selling crafts or baked goods through your parents' socials.
When the child collects $21.70, they bring the jar and calendar back to Kidtown, and they'll get to add a cut-out of a person to our lobby wall, showing they fed one person for a whole month!
Repeat! We love celebrating each calendar you bring back!

Prayer drives Agape, so becoming a prayer partner is one of the most powerful ways to support this ministry. When you sign up as a prayer partner, you connect with a specific child at Agape. You’ll receive their name, typically a photo, and appropriate information on the child’s situation and prayer needs. When that child successfully reintegrates with their biological family, you’ll be assigned a new child to pray for.

On our previous visit, we were able to see both the street outreach program and the home visits, and we spent ample time on the Agape compounds with the children. We ran a VBS in two different cities while our pastoral staff did theological training for the Agape staff. It was an incredible way to serve the Agape staff and love the kids currently on campus.
